Tune: Franconia
('Blest are the pure in heart')
Psalm 117
*******
O praise the Lord, all you
Nations, come praise Him true
All you people, Jews and Gentiles
Manifold worship styles
For His loving-kindness
His mercy we confess
'Tis great toward us, we do say
He shall show us His way
And the truth of the Lord
Endures, His living word
For ever it be, ne'er does cease
Praise Him, the Lord of peace
This here a call to praise
Joyful songs, anthems raise
He Lord of all, Almighty be
Blessings has for you, see

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.6.8.6. This, the shortest Psalm in the Bible, can be a Prelude' to the 'Songs of Ascents' - Psalms 120 to 134 - sung while people made their way up (ascended) the hill to Temple for worship. On the way back they came down the hill.

I agree.
Thanks 2.
there are evidently similarities here with a well known nursery rhyme involving a couple who went by the name Jack n Jill ..
Thanks N.
Yes - also the dizzy grand Old Duke of York. Why he keep marching up and down that hill? The troops will be worn out!
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
