Tune: Melcombe
('New every morning is the love')
Ephesians 2 v.11-22 parts
**********
Christ is our peace, He reconciled
Us to Him by His mercy mild
Jew and Gentile, they both may meet
As one around His mercy-seat* (*throne)
For He on the cross did the wall
Broke down that separated all
Taht caused partition, division
The restoring work He has done
We were at one time far away
And could not see salvation's day
But now made nigh by Christ's blood shed
Upon the cross, our living Head
For He took on Himself those things
That enmity, prejudice brings
They now abolished, for all found
By His grace true on common ground
Lord, help us build in unity
And expressing diversity
For you build us, your house, no less
Which you inhabit and do bless
