Cor Meum, Caput Meum (My Heart My Head)

Thomas W Case

Pages turn,
chapters end,
books are finished.
With resolution, and head
held high, I'll
fly away to somewhere
safer, where there's
less pain.
I try to love you,
but you just
push me away.
The heart is a
silly dreamer.
It sees life as it
should be...could be,
and not as it
is.
The head sees what
the heart doesn't.
Emotions can be as
treacherous as a
rabid dog or a
razor blade.
I wish I were a
redwood or a rosebush,
or even a dandelion
just
swaying in the
breeze.

Exquisite poetry dear Thomas, how I'd also just like to be one of those flowers blowing in the breeze, especially today. We should never change though one day that love will come right back to you. 🌹

Magnificent words that set the limits between heart and head. Very nice.

If you find a place with less pain let me know. Quite a "poetic" view of life.Loved the imagery

We always need to turn the pages in our life Thomas as we can be amazed at what is ahead of us.
