Comforting Certainty

Tune: All for Jesus

('Holy Spirit, come, confirm us')

John 14 v.26-27

*********

Jesus said, The Comforter, He

The Spirit, our Helper be

Our Advocate, the Paraclete*

Shall come to us, shall us greet

The Father sends Him in the name

Of Jesus, from heaven He came

He shall teach us all things, guiding

Us with wisdom in each thing

And shall bring to our remembrance

Whatsoever, give us sense

What things Jesus has to us said

In His way we shall be led

And Jesus His peace with us leaves

Each may of that peace receive

Not as the world gives, does he give

But lasting peace, so we live

Let not heart be troubled, afraid

Jesus, He for us has prayed

That the Spirit us empower

For to serve Him every hour

---------

* Paraclete - one called alongside to help.

          Call no one teacher...

          • orchidee

            I understand, teacher! lol.
Erm, what do I call those at school who impart knowledge, information, etc to us?
Note to self - Now come on Orchi - get the message! lol.

              Lost?

I feel I know what you mean though - over-reliance on the Pope. He is not our Father, or else he is God. And he is not our physical father either.

                  Call no one Father.

                    • 2781

                      How old is your dad?

You once called me a young man

                          • orchidee

I can't say it was me. Must have been someone else.
And can we call anyone Mother? lol.
