Tune: Consolation
('Not worthy, Lord, to gather up the crumbs';
also fits to tune of 'Abide with me')
***********
You Lord call us to your Communion feast
Invite is to the greatest and the least
Your Supper you did institute, begin
That the lost souls of mankind you might win
It may appear as bread a small morsel
And as wine given, a small sip for all
But it a rich feast spiritual to share
By your grace we may approach it, well are
It a memorial of your love shown
For greater love the world has never known
Than one to lay down His life for us all
And restore us to state whence we did fall
Help us Lord, share gospel of salvation
You now the risen Lord o'er each nation
Jews and Gentiles, so all humanity
Saviour of the world, even unto me

Bread and water is a rather strict diet and the idea of flesh and blood is a bit cabalistic. lol
Thanks SB. Yes, it could seem cannibalistic, but I always aim to emphasise that it's symbolic, not becoming actual flesh and blood.
It's interesting you commenting that as this time, as it's now Thursday. It's the festival of Corpus Christi (the Thursday after Trinity Sunday).
I don't ascribe to the meaning of this festival, which in some churches celebrates the 'Real Presence' in the bread and wine - which is verging on cannibalism, I think.
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
