The Rose of Sharon
Losing a loved one
For me has been a way of life
Never easy to accept
My birthright severed with a knife
I know it’s not meant
To feel that way
But just when I needed them most
Somehow, they got taken away
My birthparents
From whom I was born
So very long ago
From each other we were torn
The love of my life
At fourteen a plane took her away
Now at sixty-seven
Still, my for love her grows today
My first dog of Shelby
The prettiest of Samoyeds
How I treasure her memory
Each and every joy
My adoptive parents
The I love you’s not said enough
The haunting regrets in my mirror
A warmth in my heart so soft
Between Heaven and Earth
I share a beautiful loving flower
Nothing I wouldn’t do for them all
Were it within my power

A sensitive write AP.
I wouldn't miss KP if she left me. I would get out the flags and have a party! lol.
Don't forget to give Fido a flag too. 🐶
Yes lol.

The silver lining is that maybe one day in some sort of miracles you may even bump into eachother. Oh A.P such a heart tugger today. 🌹
Sharon is my heart tugger Teddy. And bumping into each other probably won't happen until in the afterlife, but I'll gladly take it. 😁👍
Stranger things have happened dear A.P 🌹
I'll take strange too. 🌹👍
Very tender words here AP. Not enough I love yous. A sad read for a Tuesday. So sad for a child in particular to not feel love and affection. A poignant read.
Thanks for reading Cassie, I believe the love was always there. But we just didn't know how to express it. But all is well now. 🌹
Wonderful loving and forgiving words AP.
Andy
Thank you Andy. 😊👍
Super emotional
Felt every word
Thank you Peto. Glad you could feel it come through. 😊👍
My only excuse for not being here before now to both commiserate and to give (award) a virtual man hug is because, having now just checked back through my diary, I was somewhere in the Caribbean and minus any Wi-Fi .. These words really touched me mate, I reckon you are a bigger and stronger man than I am .. Neville
No excuses needed N. And it takes a big man to know one. 🫂
