Holocaust
Don’t even ask,
its acceptance we seek,
not forgiveness ..
We have done nothing
wrong at all ..
Except dare to breathe ..

Very moving!! Sweet and powerful
More muchly appreciated than you may ever imagine Alan .. cheers n all that jazz .. Neville
There's the chance of forgiveness for everyone, but who could possibly say the death penalty was not right for Nazi murderers? All evil ones day will come - sooner or later.
Old Testament times were harsh - a life for a life - or should that be 'fair', not 'harsh'?
Meanwhile KP says - a botox for a botox. She says not much else! lol.
and there was me for a micro moment thinking maybe .. just maybe, someone hit this guy with a sensible stick
Since when was I sensible, being married to KP?! heehee.
Australia, '"a harmonious multicultural country" has its moments of trauma when hostilities break out in other parts of the world. University campuses, given the Israel/Hamas Gaza war are not places anyone could be comfortable with.
As for your title and and the sadness embodied there..... History is full of lies which refuse to be refuted, not only truths.
Not sure which way your paw is pointing sir .. but thanks ever so regardless .. Neville
Not totally sure where your focus was actually, Neville. Holocaust = appalling historical event.
And the body of the poem? Who speaks? Someone Jewish on behalf or all Jews? Why should 'forgiveness' even be mentioned when in general historical terms (exclude current conflict) there's nothing to forgive? And even if blame could be pinned on some Jewish Israelis that ain't all jews is it?
And if you don't mind me here (probably will!) making the point that the paucity of commentary here compared with most of your other pieces may be due to.......Oh to hell with it, I've burbled on far too long anyway.
I just ran out of words to express my depth of feeling on the subject .. it is regrettable that the term was ever coined .. but it is not exclusively owned by Jews .. although that is an oft made assumption .. ta again sir .. Neville
True words Neville.
Andy
Thank you Andy .. and sadly, still a reality .. Neville
