Tune: Herongate
('It is a thing most wonderful')
Psalm 123
******
Unto you lift I up my eyes
O Lord, come to us, hear our cries
You that do dwell in heavens above
Come help us with your comfort, love
Behold, as the eyes of servants
Look to hand of their masters hence
As eyes of maids look to mistress
For help when they are in distress
So our eyes look unto the Lord
We wait upon Him, hear His word
Wait until He have mercy on
Us, the Lord, the merciful one
Have mercy on us, Lord, we do
In our troubles call unto you
For we are filled exceedingly
With contempt of our scorners, see
They be as ease, and us revile
Contempt against us they compile
They be proud, boast in their own ways
But soon shall come their downfall days
