Seeking Sparks

orchidee

Tune: St Stephen

('In Christ there is no east or west')

*********

Lord you did choose to me befriend

To help and me defend

Though I did not care, to you turn

'Til of grace I did learn

That spark, that seed, you planted in

My heart, sought it to win

In your love, called me to yourself

I partake of your wealth

You died for me, did take my place

And for the human race

Did bear our sins, then rose again

No end of glories then

Though for a good man one may dare

To die, that way to fare

Yet I here all unworthily

Trust you to save fully

Your plan, your purpose, here reveal

Help us persevere still

Through all of life, varied events

Seek you with good intents

You found me, who was sheep astray

Brought me from night to day

Fan the flame of love in my heart

To serve you all, each part

Have you been in this church - if you live in UK, or visited from abroad?

and there was me thinking this might not be a hymn poem ..

Thanks N. It won't be a hymn poem if I digress.

Once again a fine hymn. I felt like I was in church again.

I don’t know this particular London church Orchi. A hymn with a strong message of a lost sheep who was found and given new direction. Happy Sunday to you and Mrs Botox.

Thanks Cassie lol. It\'s St Martins, Trafalgar Square, London. At the start of the last verse you can see the former Vicar (white hair), who went on to be Bishop of Salisbury, but he may now even have retired from that now.
