Goldberg Variations.

Goldfinch60

I awoke in the morning

And music came into my mind,

A piece of music by Bach,

Music normally played on a piano

By many famous pianists.

But the one that came to mind was different,

As it was played by Katrin,

Katrin Finch,

A harpist.

I came down the stairs

And had to put it on,

I sat and listened with joy,

With joy at this marvellous sound.

The relaxation of the day started,

Started with the harp playing,

Playing The Goldberg Variations.

Makes a change from me 'harping on' in my so-called singing!

I have always enjoyed the sound of the harp. It is so seldom used in modern music but offers such a unique sound of peace and tranquility. Maybe that is why it is not used.

I see it used o lot in orchestras soren so it is still out there, but you are write about it bringing peace and tranquility.

There is a beautiful elegance about the harp, you linger on every note. How wonderful to awake with such a musical thought. Thank you for sharing this lovely piece.
