Tune: Dundee
('God moves in a mysterious way')
***********
Where fretful I may lose your peace
Though your mercies ne'er cease
Your Spirit's residence within
Guard me, keep me fro msin
O to progress, not e'er stand still
Nor worse, retreat downhill
But with your power, persistence
Go in in penitence
Though need not repeat of the same
Sins, me from guilt and shame
You do release and do forgive
By your grace I shall live
'Tis true for each one, every man
You He alone who can
Forgive, restore, and make us whole
Your kingdom be our goal
Not fancy fad or world's vain show
We here seek you to know
Give wisdom in each daily task
Fulfil prayers that we ask
Come search my heart, you know me true
Strengthen me, me renew
Kindle flame, that I evangel
To others your love tell

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. I read a piece - 'Prayer can be vibrant; need not be dull or boring'. We may find dry patches in prayer at times though.
