Persevering Possibilities

orchidee

Tune: St Timothy

('O Holy Ghost, thy people bless')

**********

Help us, O Lord, to persevere

Trusting that you are near

Through toil and calm, hope and dismay

May we still watch and pray

Along the way guard us that we

Not dull, complacent be

But seeking to grow in you still

And know all your good will

For you, Christ, the path you have trod

Before us, Son of God

Experiencing life in full

Obeyed your Father's call

To bring salvation unto men

Your way not easy then

But you our yoke do make easy

Light our burdens shall be

The weight of sin you bore it al

In you we shall not fall

We forgiven, relieved can be

Your presence pleasantry

Mild propitiation, you gave

Your life us for to save

Thene rose again that we may share

That life, and so die ne'er

For death shall be our sleeping mode

Until in your abode

We shall awake, eternal morn

In heaven on us shall dawn

We pray for those who not see light

Have dim spiritual sight

O shine upon them, you the Way

To resurrection day
