Tune: Gonfalon Royal
('The royal banners forward go')
*******************
Lord, come inspire our live today
Some words to say, some words to pray
Some songs to sing to worship you
The only God and only true
Bringing salvation to each one
Who believes in you through your Son
Jesus, and too the Spirit, He
Takes up in us residency
So praises old and praises new
Are always worthy unto you
Help us to do your will, not ours
And send blessings of your showers
Thus on we go, if sometimes dry
Yet knowing you are e'er us nigh
Our Rock and stay through endless days
Attune our hearts unto your ways

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.8.8.8. A gonfalon is a type of heraldic flag or banner - as seen in many churches.

It's educational on 'ere ya know. Your word for the day - gonfalon?
And vexillology is the study of flags.
See, it doesn't matter if you sing out of tune...
Thanks 2. lol.
I have encountered two new words in this praiseworthy poem; gonfalon and vexillogy, although if I'd had to guess, I would have thought vexillology was the study of being vexed, thank you for clearing that up. Have a great day, hopefully not being vexed by KP.
Thanks B. But woe, meanwhile, yes, vexed by KP. lol.
"Bringing salvation to each one
Who believes in you through your Son
Jesus, and too the Spirit, He
Takes up in us residency"
This stanza struck me especially in the last line. Nice my friend.
Thanks SB.
Good one Orchi.
Vexillology is surely Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobic
Andy
