Tune: Ruth
('Summer suns are glowing')
*********
Lord, lift heart when downcast
Or my joys seem past
Turn me to your light sure
It shines evermore
Where pains varied linger
May our spirits stir
To trust you anew through
All, not lose our view
Our view of you as Lord
With your living word
This our faith in you is
Nought else gives true bliss
Yet not all calm, cosy
Troubles may there be
But with peace abiding
In hearts as we sing
Growing in you daily
To your image, see
Through your Spirit working
Help we need does bring
Not a fantasy flight
You are our delight
You our Saviour risen
Not escapism
So whate'er our season
Highs, lows, in each one
May we trust, hold to you
you send grace anew
Where our light burns dimly
Spirit come to be
Comforter, Strengthener
Love on us confer
Beams of your light shining
Out of dark us bring
Help us choose your good way
Going on each day
Labouring through thick, thin
Your Spirit within
Hearts open unto you
With your power endue
