Hanging around on the stand
A stock of bananas slowly ripens
Green turns to yellow
As the appeal surely heightens
Grown together from the tree
Like brothers of fruit
Until pulled apart
And lose their yellow suit
It stands to reason
They will all go their separate ways
Consumed by the hungry
Their yellow suit thrown away
And who shall be the last
The last one to go
Upon leaving with long last looks
Their brotherly love that shows
One by one
All his friends disappear
Unable to hang by himself
On the countertop with a lonely tear
He decides he’ll go out with a bang
Donning his bandit bandana
Going down in history as
The Last Banana

Grrr, KP, you old banana, you! And trout too. lol.
Come on Orchi, is she a banana or a trout? I know, she's a Troutana.
Yes lol.
LoL 🤣 you've gone banana's my dear A.P this is hilarious 🌹 🍌
Yes Teddy, I'm a banana toting poet. 😁
A fun write. There is never a last banana in my house. More like three and the skins are brown. I make banana bread and milkshakes. They are more popular with my lot:) You turned your last banana into a hero AP. I liked that 😀
Yes, up in the air, it's a bird, a plane, no its Superbanana. Hey, it could happen. 🤔
Probably you've won - within this poetic environment at least, AP....
Thanks Dave.
Brilliant, AP. 🙂 Reminds me of a song my dad used to sing when I was a kid, Yes, we have no bananas!
yes Tom, I remember that song. Thanks for the compliment. 😁
this is very sad I had hoped to prevent the banana from extinction, but its ultimate demise was out of my control and writ about with absolute distinction .. 🍌👍
Not to worry N, there's a fresh batch down at the grocery store just waiting for you. 🍌 😁
