My trunk may be shriveled and dry
and in this swelt'ring heat I fry.
My faith is great and my hopes high.
Strong willed am I, strong willed am I.
``
Once I stood tall upon this land.
Until drought turned my soil to sand.
Thousands of acres green and grand.
Now scorched and bland, now scorched and bland.
``
The world 'twas once a treasure vault.
This climate change the humans fault.
Can blame them all for this assault.
To late to halt, to late to halt.
``
I've weathered many a heartache.
I shall survive make no mistake.
I may be bent but I won't break.
Futures at stake, futures t stake.
``
I'll try my best and I won't fail.
I'm tough inside though I look frail.
My willpower you cannot flail.
I will prevail, I will prevail~

Best wishes and hopes for the tree your poem spoke for and for your Texas…
Hi poetess! 🕊️
Thank you for
stopping
by my way!! 😀
I appreciate it
Immensely,
y'all have a nice day! 🌹
Best wishes. THAD
Smooth flow as usual, Thad! Great write. Have you considered that the earth is heating up due to iron beginning to transmute into gold?!
Howdy my friend!! 😎
Yeah, heating up
cuz iron is transmuting
to gold, 🥇 that's a
possibility, 🤔
I neva thunk a that¿¿
Thanks for visiting!! 😊
Best regards ✌️. Thad
Hey Thad! Your beleaguered tree looks very much like a close relative of the bottle tree found hereabouts (well maybe a bit north, but let’s not get technical!). If so, the thick trunk is water storage, which may account for it surviving at all.
Any warning on global warming is OK by me!
That tree will prevail Thad as we all will.
