Seek First...

orchidee

Tune: Hereford

('O thou that camest from above')

Luke 12 v.22-34

**********

Lord, help us seek your kingdom first

That it be our hunger and thirst

Not worrying o'er food, drink, clothes

Though you know we have need of those

Help us consider birds, they fly

Not sow or reap, but you their stay

Lord God you feed them all daily

And so it to your children be

Help us consider lilies fair

We can all in their beauties share

Lord God you clothe them here today

Then tomorrow they go their way

Will you not much more us provide?

We can in you trust and provide

You tend unto your creation

And too folk of every nation

Worry and anxious care be gone

Your kingdom here through Christ your Son

You will give us, your flock little

Help us to hear your loving call

Not treasure on earth, vanity

For where our treasure is, shall be

Our hearts also, so may we meek

Your true riches in heaven seek
