Look Out! Eagle!

AuburnScribbler

An egg did hatch,

a frightened chick,

blinded by the sky,

it’s squark, absurd,

nonsensical word,

but needed how to fly,

fledgling flapped,

with frenzied craze,

trying to fit in,

as contest flared,

no one cared,

love, were not his days,

but, when wings spread,

with proud span,

he knocked them off the perch,

to tell the truth,

progress is uncouth,

an emblem on some merch.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Sadly, to be successful without losing yourself, is incredibly hard in such a materialistic modern world, especially when the "terms and conditions" are so plentiful and somewhat iron clad in their conception. One minute, you are an innocent child who just wants to innocently share videos of interest online, and the other, because of such a meteoric success, you can't go a day without checking YouTube stats, and using vocabulary, that only an AI generated corporate lackey would use. With such a "grabbing" culture, this leads to ugly transformations all over the place, and results in certain things to be distorted into something gruesome. For example, the eagle, the most majestic of all birds, was minding it's own business, and then the Romans and later the Nazis decided to use it's image as an emblem, to make it the sign of dominance, thus, horrible deeds were unfairly associated with it. So, I give you this poem of warning Look Out! Eagle! To encourage you to try to keep most of yourself as you can, as losing yourself, and then to become part of a mob of avarice, is one of the worst kinds of betrayal there is. The banner picture to me, has two faces, one, a high flyer who is proud of his perch, or two, someone who has escaped the loud and proud crowd, to reflect. I hope that you enjoy, and take something from this, and please, as always, please do stay safe everyone.

We all progress in differing ways Ben hopefully we are progressing along the right path.

Thanks for the read Andy, and I do agree with what you've said about different routes to progress, and the hope of doing so in the correct way.

It's just that, I think that those who are so well known, who have sky rocketed to success, have done so with the littlest amount of morality, thus have become a poisonous fume, adding to a such overwhelming toxic cultures. Or, is it that such villainy exists, because of droves of sheep, who choose to live in the shadow of popular opinion, keep on opening the gates to them. Either or, what a world to live in eh!?

Sorry for the mini rant, thanks again, and I hope that all is well.

        I agree with you Ben.

Yes all is fine here as I hope it is with you.
