calm the lakes that bleed the river
as the mist drifts off its surface
rising upwards dissipating
torched by burnished morning sun
ghostly trails of veils now perish
as the light grows ever stronger
courage comes when it is needed
stay the course and see it done
now the sparkles dance on water
gleaming on the skin of ripples
i was born my father’s daughter
taught by him to overcome
go find inside
your strength he’d tell me
let the lion roar and freely
dig in deep and don’t succumb

ghostly trails of veils now perish
as the light grows ever stronger;
two lines that dragged me in and kept me there a while.
very touching Cassie.

I sense a father smiling with proud admiration for a talented daughter. 😉👍
Thank you AP. What a beautiful thought. I never wrote any poetry at all until after my Father died. I appreciate you. Have a good weekend.
Sometimes our parents can influence us in ways we never expected. I appreciate you too. Keep that quill wet. 😁👍
Nothing but beauty in every line
ghostly trails of veils now perish
as the light grows ever stronger
courage comes when it is needed
stay the course and see it done

KP tricks me for botox money. She says she's not a fierce lion, but a soft pussycat. Old trout, more like!
I'm horrible to her! heehee.
Poor Mrs Botox. I reckon you are quite a challenge for her. Just how long has she had to put up with you Orchi:)) Many thanks for stopping by.
Wow. This is like looking at a beautiful painting.

You know the fact that you read this twice has made my day. Thank you Thad. Have a happy Saturday.
Spectacular imagery in metaphor and a poem with a message. Very nicely written. The first stanza struck me hard with its beauty.
Thank you so much my friend for your encouraging words. You are appreciated. All the best.
It seems you were taught well, but then, like so many other things, that was never in doubt ..
My Dad taught me many things but I have learned too from others on my journey. Thank you Neville for stopping by with a kind review.
