Sorry if there is a delay in replying or if I'm away for short periods. Sometimes life gets in the way. As John Lennon says, life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.
I am working from home this week
until the builders are gone.
I find I’m much more productive at home
I always get so much more done.
I get a shout out on breakfast radio
from the bubbly morning show host
who mentions that I’m WFH
while having my tea and toast.
After breakfast I start on the housework,
whizzing the hoover round, then bring out the mop.
This working from home is so hectic,
it really just doesn’t stop.
In the afternoon I weed the garden,
then book an appointment for my hair,
then I call a few friends for a chat,
and then just doze in my chair.
After a few hours of day-time TV
I quickly pop to the shops,
I use the express till before dashing back home,
in case there’s a call from my boss.
It’s back to the office on Monday
I’ll back working at my desk
when they ask how I found working from home
I’ll say I’ve come back in for a rest.

Hard to know what you actually do, Tom to induce the office to cough up on payday, but 'nice work if you can get it'
Now, Dave, this poem IS inspired by real events, but as far as this being myself or my colleagues, I couldn't possibly comment! 🙂
I fully appreciate your need for discretion here, Tom.
Some say - WFH? Oh yeah, pull me other leg! heehee.
Managers don't do anything anyway - do they?! lol.
Haha! Yep, agree with you about managers! They have a good meeting. 🙂
I caught a manageress on the phone, working I suppose, but lolling about on some sofa in her office. We had to thank her for supposedly working during her holiday - making phone calls, etc. Oh yeah? Pull the other one?! lol
I have to say Tom that a change is normally as good as a rest. Not so sure in your case. The office sounds a doddle:)) I enjoyed the read. I always work at home and I am always busy:)) Enjoyed the read.
This was inspired by comments and things seen and overheard in the office. Thanks as always for your comments. Happy Monday. Cheers, Tom.
WFH had me stumped for a while, much like a whole load of other acronyms .. but I learnt a lot about modern working trends that seem to have become well established during and post lockdown .. Cheers Neville
Yeah WFH became a thing for me during lockdown. I much prefer being in the office. Thanks for your comments, mate. Cheers, Tom.
Two words Tom, work ethic! Great write. 👍
