Moonlight

Bella Shepard

The Moon

It’s beautiful

Isn’t it?

Most people

Talk about

The sunrise

But I like the moonlight

I like the moonlight because

The moon comes out

At night

And when it’s night

It’s dark

I don’t like it because it’s dark

I like it because the moon lights up

This dark world

The nighttime

Is the darkness in this world

But the moon is

That little bit of good that’s left

All that is left to say is

I promise

There is still good out there

You just haven’t quite

Found it

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem was written by my now 23 year old granddaughter when she was in highschool. I\\\'ve kept it along with a couple more in a folder, and reorganizing my work space I came upon it again. I felt I just had to put it out there. Hope you enjoy it.
