A Quiet Parting

A Quiet Parting

This was the loneliest day of my life:

You left me on my own.

Forever, to be alone.

You were the “Queen of the Rendezvous”

while I was home longing for you.

Four tender years that ran to overdone

as teardrops fell in our one-on-one.

Our broken hearts may never mend

but my love for you will never end.

I heard the sound of loneliness

where not a word is expressed.

“Let’s break this sound barrier.”

You had not one word to say,

followed by a dreadful silence.

Please, leave quietly.

I don’t have anything more to say, except…..

“How can I live another day?”

Quiet partings tho' invariably sad are also more mature, civilised and dignified than their noisier and more messy counterparts ..

the sadness here is really quite palpable Phil .. Neville
