From the infinitely huge
To the infinitesimally small
We know not even a fraction
Of what our universe is
Why is it then
We think we’re so smart
When in reality
We know nothing

now how impressive a write is this Bella.
when in reality, I know nothing!
from the heart is always best my friend.
Dear friend, The longer I live the more I find how little I know of life, and in that respect I suppose I echo our beloved Socrates. His wisdom and words still reverberate today, we just need to listen and take heed. Thank you so much for reading, I always love your comments.
And now a - fairly old I think - song: 'I, I who know (or 'have') nothing!' lol.
I dunno what day or year it is, so I don't know much. lol.
Tom Jones did it good. Thank you Orchi, try not to get too lost. Maybe KP could help? Nah. lol
So true. Powerful work.
Thank you so much for reading, I appreciate your very kind comment. Take care!
Brevity becomes you m' lady .. Neville
Thank you Nev, you can't imagine how tired I was after exerting the energy to type this, let alone think, had a good nap afterwards. lol Take care my friend!
How true Bella. We do think we know so much and in fact we do no nothing. Even what we think we know changed day to day. Very nice Bella
Thank you so much my friend. I think we should start a club, the Know Nothing Club, but actually I think they tried that with a political party way back in the day and it only lasted a couple of years. Shows you what happens when you know nothing.
Just enjoy, Bella. There's no knowing what it's all about really.
The mantra I identify with:
'We're here because we're here."
That perfectly sums up all I know.
Thank you Dave, I love your mantra! I think that if we stopped "Being So Uptight" as the saying goes, we'd be a lot happier and maybe even healthier. So let it go, because we just don't know. Love hearing from you.
Hey Bella - It's not mine, and had an unpromising beginning in the trenches of WW1. However, detach it from there, and I willingly accept it as a truth I and all humanity should subscribe to........
Here, Here my friend. Wherever it came from it is the truth, and I applaud you. I expect that in the trenches of WW1, what else could they say. Hope you have a wonderful day!!
Boy, that is for sure. Arrogance leads to a fall.
Ain't it the truth. Thank you for reading and for this oh so true comment, it is greatly appreciated.
So true Bella.
Andy
Thank you Andy, we're all in this together, whatever it is.
We are but a small fraction of time and the universe Bella. Great write. 😊👍
It does just blow your mind doesn't it? I think sometims if I contemplate it too my much my head will explode. Thank you for this wonderful, insightful comment my friend.
What a wonderful question spread out to tease a mind, this made me chuckle. My husband would love this too he is a physisit and works with space. I love this Bella, 🌹
Thank you so much my dear Teddy. As the Star Trek intro used to say "Space The Final Frontier", but I think the final frontier is the space in our heads, and the conundrum of consciousness continues to confound even the greatest minds, so how can we every truly know anything.
A super piece of brevity dear Bella. Absolutely full of truth. We know nothing in the bigger picture. Have a beautiful Wednesday dear.poet 🌹
Thank you so much Cassie, I appreciate your comment and your well wishs. Hope you have beautiful Wednesday as well.
This wonderfully written statement, is a clear reminder of the erroneous bloated self importance of our clumsy species, that will never be true masters of the planet, or in this case, the universe.
In these modern times there is too much pride, that creates and rehashes such dangerous errors, so your statement is an emphatic mantra of humility.
Bravo Bella, and I hope that all is well.
Thank you my friend, I am always appreciative of your insightful comments, and your thought-filled poems, for they do give wonderful food for thought. Take care!
You are very welcome, thank you for such kind words back, and I will try to take care.
