Sitting Ducks.

Goldfinch60

There we were walking along Our River,

A beautiful sunny morning,

The green river clear as glass

We could see the bottom.

As we walked we looked around,

One lady sitting on a bench reading,

Reading a book.

Another elderly couple sitting in the sun,

Sitting there in happiness.

As we walked on we saw them,

We saw the ducks,

Not swimming in the water

But sitting in a line on the concrete,

The concrete path at the boathouse.

All looking out to Our River

As we were.

I had never seen so many doing this,

And they just sat there,

Sat there like sitting ducks.

A fine write and pic Gold. Looks like an area near-ish to us.

Thanks Orchi. The picture is at My River, the Avon in Evesham.

I had a pigeon visit me today as I worked on the water. Stayed and listened to me talk.

      • Goldfinch60

They often listen to me as well 2781 especially if I am feeding them.

That's one way to get something to listen!

Oh no sitting ducks LoL I only hope they will all be accounted for this evening. 🌹

          • Goldfinch60

I am sure they will be fine, they get fed enough by many people.

This reminded me of the other day when I saw a bunch of vultures sitting on my neighbor's roof. I wondered what was going on inside.

            • Goldfinch60

Vultures are very patient in their ways soren. LOL.

Contemplating the cool waters while lapping up the sun. I love the posted image. It reminds me of human behaviiour. Flocking to the beach on a. nice day. Much enjoyed Andy.

                      Thank you Cassie.

The great thing about the beach at Bembridge is that people do not flock there.

I lived for a while near a stream with steep banks. Ducks, after a swim, would struggle to walk up the sides with those rubbery flat feet, as if forgetting they could fly. Thanks for reminding me.

Yes very true Dan, thank you.

I had a “duck encounter” recently… biking on the Swamp Rabbit Trail in Greenville, SC. Very nice trail. One duck 🦆 really seemed to like me, and kept following me briefly, but the rest of his brothers and sisters were happily, busy doing “duck things” and ignoring me 😂
