Heavenly Help

orchidee

Tune: St Fulbert

('Ye choirs of new Jerusalem')

Psalm 46 v.1-5

*******

God is our refuge and our strength

He helps soon and at length

A very present help is He

When troubled hours be

Therefore we will not fear whate'er

Matters in life we share

Even though the earth be removed

God's help shall still be proved

And though the mountains be carried

Into the sea, no dread

Shall we have, and thoug hwaters roar

And clouds pour thier rain-store

There is a river, its streams shall

Make glad, so we shall tell

Shall bring gladness to God's city

Where He does dwell, so be

God is in the midst of her, see

And unshaken shall be

They who there with Him live, for He

Shall help them, and early

  • Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. A comfort, if our 'hour' (or 'hours') of troubles, concerns, difficulties, etc has come to us. A tune used recently but seemed suitable here.

We are always in need of a helping hand and the belief that there is a powerful one out there is reassuring. Good one Orchi

Your hymn-poem of comfort is especially appreciated at this time of such upheavel in the good old USA. If things don't go well in our election, it may not be the good old USA any more. Wish I could say lol, but tragically I cannot.
