The dagger

sorenbarrett

From the daggers blow life's blood does flow

cuts deep wounds seep

Bright red bleeding dreams dead, into darkness go

What was once bright now night

Breath taken not to awaken

sleep will sweep all this out of sight

You extoll beautifully the wonderful properties of sleep, to heal grief and put all in perspective. Kudo my friend!

A sign of our times. The knives are out and on the streets. So many young people killed in the blink of an eye. A worrying trend. Wish it was all a dream, but it isn’t. Your lines create strong imagery and concern dear poet.
