Doggerel Dave

Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
Not absent - still here!
Keep Calm and Carry On Poeming. 😂

Crowd Struck hard at the system;

Internal actor did it all.

Wait ‘til we become cashless -

Hostile actor will have a ball.

Good chance to get it out there. My insistence to use cash whenever I can is met sometimes with good humour (poor old guy!) but already the occasional establishment which only accepts cards.
Given the current state of play I obviously use my card as payment for bills and goods via the internet, but while I have cash, I feel I won\'t starve...

What a fiasco yesterday was Dave. And how long will it take to put right? We are doing our bit in our family to ensure that cash is still used. This four liner covers a huge amount of ground and what ifs. Governments everywhere should be very worried. All the best to you.

      • Doggerel Dave

Thanks Cassie. That fiasco (great descriptor) was friendly fire. Wait until hostilities really commence as a result of all the political posturing we see and hear on a daily basis.

        Cash forever indeed Dave.

We will always need cash. What about those not used to using cards or computers?
A silly advert said 'Crypto coins only', and so a customer could not buy anything.

Who is this 'we'? (once more I ask) Many folks, particularly the young, now carry just a card. Where I live there are often news reports (propaganda) citing the need for less cash and predicting a cashless society in the not too distant future.

          • orchidee

It's the royal 'we' in the UK! lol.

            • Doggerel Dave

The Royals need cash? This bon mot, unprecedentedly humorous within your canon, far exceeds anything you have ever dished up to unsuspecting MPS readers over the course of your lengthy illustrious residence here.. So well delivered, orchi.

              • orchidee

It's a British thing - the royal 'we', or the royal 'one'. Refer to me as 'one' now! lol.

                • Doggerel Dave

                  Oh you are a one!

Dave this goes hard. For a man that has problems with metaphors this one is highly symbolic. Nicely done Dave.

Methought that was just plain speaking, Soren: About something I've thought for a long time in an atmosphere where the propaganda is heavily focussed on the removal of cash from the system. Yet not just old guys like me (though that's the implication) want cash retained, but many from beggars and buskers, right up through the alphabet and social hierarchy would vote for cash if they had a voice.

You just cant beat cash can ya ..

Fantastic. This could become a chant.

I'll believe it when I hear it - Thanks for the read.
