Tune: St Cecilia
('Thy kingdom come, O God')
Luke 13 v.18-19
********
Jesus said, What like be
The kingdom of God? see
What shall I it compare
To resemble and share?
'Tis like a mustard seed
Which a man took, did heed
And cast in his garden
And waited for growth then
From small seed it did grow
Became a great tree so
And the birds of the air
Lodged in its branches there

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.6.6.6. Got any mustard seeds?! We grew them, and cress, on blotting paper at primary school. A bit of a dull tune to the hymn I think, though I'm trying out different tunes that I know.

Another wonderful parable that applies to more than one thing. Nicely done Orchi.
Thanks SB.
This one I can really relate to, having been a gardner at one time. Beautiful!
Thanks Bella. I don't know if I've actually seen a mustard tree.
There's the leaven/yeast parable too. I use leaven when I dish up KP's dinners of sewage. heehee. I get worse in my marriage to her. lol.
Does she enjoy her sewage hot, or served cold like gazpacho? lol
Either. lol.
