I know it is there,
Hidden from the view of others,
It sits in the dark,
Just waiting for me.
This glorious friend
That can do me no wrong,
Always there,
Waiting for that time
When I need it before me,
To enjoy its wonderful companionship.
I open the cupboard door,
And there it sits
In all its glory,
This nectar from Scotland.
Pure and untarnished.
I coax it gently
Into a crystal glass,
Raise it to my nose,
To inhale
Its mesmerising, smoky scent.
I take a sip,
And roll this glory
Round my mouth
In absolute rapture.
It arouses my taste buds
To a state of ecstasy.
Slowly it slides down my throat,
Its warmth and love,
Coating my soul with joy.
My wonderful scotch,
My Laphroaig.

- Comment from author about the poem: I enjoy good malt Scotch whisky and Laphroaig is my favourite. Down for the Count, the band on the video, are a phenomenal band and we have seen them 8 times now.

You won't let me in if I pop round with the water syphon! lol.
Certainly not Orchi, when you do come round I would lock it away. LOL

Andy – I’ve been wanting to tell you for a while now. I received a voucher (source not relevant) which covered most of the cost of a “quarter cask”, thus relieving you of the responsibility of making good on your offer.
Andy, can’t break this to you gently – my taste buds tell me it is liquid peat. Tried to use it as a body rub, but the lady at my local café whom I quite fancy began ducking behind the counter when she saw me coming…….!!!
We all have our own tastes Dave, Mary thinks it stinks as well but I enjoy it. Cheers!🍷🍷🍷
Andy

I'm happy you're enjoying your Laphroaig Andy. The only band I've seen 8 times is The Moody Blues. 🎼🎵🎶🎵 😊
I like the Moody Blues but have never seen them live which is such a shame.
Andy
Yes, and only two of them left. But... we still have their music. 👍
