In the Hush of Summer's Fading Light

Mr. Poetic 243

In the hush of summer's fading light,
A whisper stirs, a promise bright,
The air grows crisp, a change in tune,
As autumn dances, cradling the moon.

Back to School, that sweet refrain,
Of sharpened pencils and paper plain,
New outfits hung in colors bold,
Stories waiting, just waiting to be told.

The scent of fresh notebooks, crisp and clear,
Pages inviting, “Come read me, dear.”
With each fresh spine of a textbook wide,
A world of wonder, an intellectual ride.

Backpacks packed with treasures anew,
Markers, erasers, crayons in hue,
Ready to learn, to explore and create,
With friends by my side, there’s no time to wait.

The change of seasons, the trees dressed in gold,
Call to adventure, as stories unfold,
Laughter and chatter fill the bright halls,
Echoes of learning through windowed walls.

Every new chapter, a path to embrace,
In this magic of days, I find my place,
As summer waves farewell, in its warm retreat,
I welcome the school year, a challenge sweet.

So here’s to the joy, the thrill of the start,
With a notebook in hand, and an open heart,
For every new lesson, a chance to ignite,
The spark of discovery, chasing the light.

Well written rhyme and the flow of this pome pulls one onward. A fun message as well. Nicely done

An idealised version of school life which I actually quite enjoyed....
