In the Dust

Cocamedo

The past can’t exist anymore.
The past can only reside in the present
If it stays unlocked and we open the door.

The future is what can be changed
Each moment that happens, decisions are made,
Is it a something we dearly hold onto
Or darkness we pray that will just float away.

I want to let go of the feelings.
The stress and the anguish that’s pulling me down.
The words and the hurt and the pain that we suffer
Let it all fade without making a sound.

I choose to take back what is mine.
The present, the future, the stars in my sky.
Can’t stop the clouds from returning,
That doesn’t mean that the sun will stop burning

Trust and believe in not what I’ve done
But in all of the things that haven’t begun
I made you a promise, intended to keep
I hope there is comfort where you go to sleep

The feelings are swirling around
Some lifting us up, some tearing us down
It’s like a tornado that we never saw
Stuck in the middle, affecting us all.

But that doesn’t mean that the storm will not pass
It’s kicking your ass, it’s kicking my ass
The flowers are dying and tired of crying
The puzzle unfinished, but no one is trying
The deed has been done, no war has been won
I call out your name, please come out of hiding.

Divine intervention and hopeful intention
Deserves some attention,
Our garden of trust

Someday it may settle
And cover the petals
But if you look closely
There’s love in the dust

I read this twice just to gather the intensity that lives and dances with your words.

A great message. There is no past and no future only the present and I loved the last line a great image.

The puzzle unfinished, but no one is trying is the line that definitely hit me the hardest. Great work!
