Notice of absence from Tom Dylan
Sorry if there is a delay in replying or if I'm away for short periods. Sometimes life gets in the way. As John Lennon says, life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.

I want to be a prolific writer and poet,
like a chef working in the restaurant kitchen
preparing dozens of wonderful dishes
then ringing the bell and calling for service.
I want to be a prolific writer and poet,
like a football player on a winning streak
scoring a hat-trick of goals every week
with my team at the top of the league.
I want to be a prolific writer and poet,
like those space-programme scientists
designing the gleaming rockets that send
astronauts up to the stars.
I want to be a prolific writer and poet.
I once asked a famous author
for advice for an aspiring writer.
His reply has stayed with me.
Don’t aspire.
Write.

Good advice. The more you write the more practice you will get and the more people that will read and the greater the chance that many of those will be great. Nicely stated
Thanks a lot for your comments. Really appreciated. Cheers, Tom.
No use keep going up church spires all the time - aspiring! lol. I suppose we have to get round to the actual doing/writing of it! lol.
Haha! A-spiring! Took me a minute, Orchi! Very good. But, yeah, exactly, time comes when we have to knuckle down and do the actual writing! 🙂
Just don't bewail your state here when inspiration (muse?) deserts you - I've done it, many here have too. Just got to relax, and keep that notebook plus writing implement by the bed....
You do just fine to me, Tom
Thanks a lot for that, Dave. Really appreciated. Yeah, I'll keep plugging away. Cheers, Tom. 🙂
Powerful metaphor. Writing is a bit like cooking.
Thanks a lot for your comments, Thomas. Really appreciated.
The thing about writing is that a thought can come out of nowhere and begin to proliferate of its own accord, you just have to go with the flow and let it lead you. I love the analogy of each stanza, so well versed. The last one tops it off beautifully.
Thanks a lot for your comments, Bella. Really appreciated.
Write away Tom you are doing great work.
Andy
Thanks Andy, really appreciated. 🙂 Cheers, Tom.
