- Comment from author about the poem: Amidst all the horrors that continue all over the world at the moment, there’s a little sports challenge that’s going on. To me, the Olympic Games, is not only an event that showcases great athleticism, but with a clear sense of togetherness, it is also a display of the goodness that humanity can exude, when it chooses to be good decision makers. But alas, such a fine example seems to be ignored by the world of politics, thus, when it comes to the foundation of our operation, things remain catastrophically the same. With this in mind, this gets me to think: The day sweet music, is the law, then fed the souls will be, in sportsmanship, the ice could thaw, to fix the harmony! I give you this acrostic poem, that pays homage to the quadrennial occasion, that should be part of the basis of our brighter future. Additionally, you might notice that the first letters of each line, are in the colours of the Olympic rings; changing intermittently in sequence. With that said, the banner picture of the coloured leaves, is the closest thing on here that loosely echoes the design of the Olympic rings, the sign of such a peaceful agreement, in the spirit of good sporting competition. I would also like to congratulate team GB, for their medal tally so far, we're fifth on the medal table, which I think, with all the competition on display, is a great achievement. Keep it up guys, gals and non binary friends. I hope that you enjoy this poem, happy watching; if you are following the games, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.
