Salvation Strength

orchidee

Tune: St Bees

('Hark my soul, it is the Lord')

Psalm 28 v.6-9

*************

Blesséd be the Lord, for He

Voice of my prayers has heard, see

He is my strength and my shield

Unto Him I will true yield

My heart trusts in Him, and so

I am helped, His grace I know

Therefore my heart greatly here

Rejoices in Him, He hear

With my song I will Him praise

On through endless nights and days

The Lord our strength, salvation

Appears unto each nation

He the saving strength shall be

Of His anointed*, bold, free

Save your people, Lord, and bless

Your inheritance no less

Feed them also as your sheep

You will defend them and keep

Do for ever them up lift

Grant to them each gracious gift

-----

* 'His anointed' could mean 'His people.

It could also mean Christ, 'The Anointed One',

though not yet come in person in the Old Testament days.

May He continue to be the strength in his flock. Fine verses here Orchi. Have a happy Friday, you and Mrs Botox.
