When Motown Meets The Blues

Teddy.15

With your eyes
you see the shadows
of the dark, deep within my soul

you see me
even when I don't feel whole
you see my every flaw

when I cannot see myself
you see me
even when I've closed the door

when all the light
is shaded by the dark

and when, even in my best mood
the clouds remain

soaking me in misery
to the point I am drowning

suffocating lungs filled with  soot

I will try my best to stand tall

a woman isn't always easy to see
but you see me

with your eyes
you see the sparkles
of light deep within my soul

you see me at my best
you see me, when I reach my goals

a woman isn't always easy to see
but you see me
you really do

and
that's when...
Motown meets the Blues.

Loved this one Teddy and the last line is what pulled it all together. Whether lovers, dancers, or jamming on instruments it is that understanding that brings it all together and makes music.

Beautiful. You bring this scene to life. Billie was tremendous. Great work, sweet Teddy.

Ah the music scene how rich would it be, priceless I reckon, thank you dear Thomas, I hope you are ok sweet friend. 🌹

I think, maybe, Billie could have used a lot more understanding. If only someone had looked into her eyes and saw what was there.
Music is the great unifier of man. If we communicated by music and not language, we'd all be a lot better off. Oh well, I'm rambling. Your poem is responsible. It had me thinking, "What if?" Thoroughly enjoyed your poem. "A woman isn't always easy to see" is a brilliant line. - Phil A.
