Where I’m From

Gracie<3

i am from locked doors

From needles and rubber bands

I am from the constant reminder that my life is a mess.

I am from a thorn bush,

Bundled up and sharp,

I'm from movie nights and messy family drama.

From toxic and abusive love from my dear brother.

I'm from the constant hospital trips and lots of crying.

From “Don't worry about me” and “It's just heroin.”

I'm from the love I never got from him

and the screaming of my heart.

From crying at your grave to wishing I was dead.

From the story about my dads car accident, and the alcohol addiction that never stopped. In the tub of photos and your old cigarettes that I was never allowed to touch.

I am from the movie nights, not always together but we sometimes were.

These memories haunt me forever and ever.
