That Saturn ring fit me well.
I'd hula hoop her 'round my belly.
Swinging, twirling. My impact was once...
That large.
Today, however,
I feel like Pluto. They declassified it as a planet and now it's a...
"dwarf planet"? kinda dumb...pretty insignificant.
Yeah, I feel that.

- Comment from author about the poem: We've all been through ups and downs. Maybe one day I will reach my dreams. For now, though, I'm just considered a "daydreamer." 💫🪐✨

Daydream for a while (but not too long). You'll make it, Rocky.
Imaginative analogy (I avoid metaphors when I can).
Great to see you. I look forward to greater input here.
Hey there! Thx a bunch for the comment. I feel like the concept of daydreaming and reverie permeate my works. I mean my first poem on this site is literally like this deep-dive into the whole shebang, sort of contemplating one's current state of life, and what they wish for. It's very introspective. I'm really glad you liked the metaphor.
I never knew there were midget planets! lol. Does the No.7 bus go to Pluto? heehee.
Ikr?! I remember being in the 4th grade when I learned that Pluto wasn't considered a planet the same way the others in the solar system are regarded. And I for wtv reason felt sympathy for Pluto. As if it had a personality and emotions. But I always resonated with Pluto for that very reason, sometimes you're just the odd one out! But it's good to know that through that originality, greatness can come. Thx for the input Orchi!
Good write R. I'm a bit old - what is ikr? I know idk (I don't know'). lol.
Yes, I felt sorry for trees outdoors on cold nights. I brought them all indoors at night. Eh?! heehee.
Were you thinking of Pluto the cartoon dog?
Ikr? = I know right?

With political correctness the way it is I am surprised that they got away calling it a dwarf. A fun read that put a smile on my face. Nicely done.
Aw thank you! No, literally. Calling it a "dwarf" planet almost sounds offensive, lol. I'm glad you liked the poem tho. Much appreciated
I can picture you hoola hooping that ring, dazzling. Einstein was a daydreamer, not bad company to be in. I'd say you are perhaps in a waiting place, who know what is to come. My mother used to say good things come in small packages. Look at how people clambored when Pluto was deemed a dwarf planet. A clever and witty poem, and far from insignificant. Good one!
Oh hello, Bella! Why thanks for bringing up that little gold nugget of info. Einstein is a great comparison, his daydreams weren't in vain; rather, just a part of the discovery process. I'd like to believe that I'm also in a waiting place. Where soon I can sprout from. I will take your mother's advice to heart
Hula Hoop? Really giving up your age here.
Lol! Hey there, Dan. Thanks for reading.
