Designer marks for glory I don’t make
My piercings from a thorn I take
My face and nails painted with mud
No lipstick, my lips daubed in blood
Beauty and courage tattoos on their skin
My history, I bury in carved scars without and within
Wrinkles of joy, black bruises of strife
History etched in flesh, tapestry of life

What's that saying-by the time you get old you have the face that you deserve!
Was born with the face that only a mother could love and still got it.
Their the best ones.
Nicely done, some cracking lines in this one.
Thank you so much for the review and kind words they are appreciated
Great write
Thank you Tony I appreciate the read and comment.
You're welcome
Oh I could never have a tattoo 🤣 too much of a baby for that, I have got my ears pierced, and my belly button that I no longer wear as the spice girls much like me are almost 50 now lol love your tapestry of your beauty and scars of life. Wonderful dearest sorrenbarret 🌹
Thanks for the read Teddy. Yes I have never been attracted to one. After all what would they look like on me now? Shrunken or streched.
lol depends where you have them if they are on the end of your nose or somewhere else 🤣
I would faint even before they started giving me a real tattoo!
Thanks Orchi for the read. I can´t they would be covered over with scars.
'Please don't show me your secret piercings, KP,' I say to her. I would never recover! lol.
Yes Soren - if anyone is going to pierce my skin it has to be a fully qualified experienced surgeon with a meaningful purpose.
Tapestry of REAL life......
Thank you, Dave. I feel pretty much the same way. I pierce my own skin from time to time and even cautious about what doctor I go to. Thanks for the read and comment it is appreciated.
Well honed, your poem Soren.
A great display of life's scaring and bruising. Hopefully no permanent damage was done.
Your poem says a lot in a few words. One of poetry's hallmarks, - Phil A.

Powerful and gritty work.

No tattoos but a nice selection of scars; History "etched in flesh, tapestry of life" indeed. They tell my story well.
