We met in the coffee bar,
This man and me.
We chatted and laughed,
Then we talked about music,
Music is my life
And he too enjoyed it.
I told him I liked jazz,
And he said he did not like it.
So I told him about jazz,
How different the styles were.
I suggested he listened to Chet,
Chet Baker, my favourite trumpeter.
We met a few days later
And he said how good it was.
So we talked about him
And I mentioned others he might like.
I came home and now I have,
I have a little list
Of jazzers he may like.
Chet comes first
With Oscar close behind
And Brubeck’s there of course
With Louis and Ella.
Glen and Benny are there
Jacques is also there,
And of course she’s there,
Beegie Adair is there,
I have her on my list,
A list that is such short
As there are so many,
So many jazzers in my life,
So many more for him to hear.
So much music,
So little time.

Must work through that list myself, Andy – there’s one or two there…. Thanks for the tips. Worthwhile, really.
To him you would be someone like a high priest of Jazz – You need to anoint him with something…I’ve got a nearly full bottle of whisky you could use….
Thanks Dave, sorry though it is MY whisky. LOL
That list I have for him is:
“Together” Chet Baker and Paul Desmond
“Kind of Blue” Miles Davis
Chet Baker
Oscar Peterson
Paul Desmond
Bix Beiderbeck
Louis Armstrong
Ella Fitzgerald
Dave Brubeck
Classical Jazz Quartet
Jacques Loussier
Gerry Mulligan
Modern Jazz Quartet
David Rees-Williams Trio
Duke Ellington
Count Basie
Beegie Adair
George Lewis
Benny Goodman
Glenn Miller
I hope you enjoy some of them.

There are so many types of Jazz Teddy you will never hear them all, I still come across new stuff and I have been listening to jazz all my life.
