There was a crowd of people
Standing at the bus stop
All of them looking at their cellphones
There was another man
Just sitting on a bench
He was reading a book
Suddenly a policeman arrived
He drew his gun
Pointed it at the man and shouted
“Put that down,
Whatever it is your holding
And walk slowly towards me
With your hands in the air!”
Is this what life will be
Will be in time
When reading books
Reading books is a crime!

Doh! Good write Gold.
Thanks Orchi.
You gonna become our new George Orwell and Aldous Huxley combined, Andy? (Sounds more George to me!)😊
Did they get much money out of it Dave? LOL.
Andy
Dunno - missed out on the manager's position. Why - are you getting short? LOL
No all is fine but I just want to get enough money to buy my Aston Martin DB11 it only costs £147,000. LOL
Andy
Dunno why you hesitate......
Things that sound rediculous today become fact tomorrow. A scarry thought Andy
So very true soren, thank you.
Andy
In fact we are more and more imprisoned by our phones and not all of us realise. In another 10 years I wouldn't want to imagine. 🌹
WE certainly are Teddy, I hope that I am not one of them though, I speak to real people face to face.
Thank you for your comment.
Andy
When all the books are gone, we can all die of boredom. Or maybe, they'll just have to resort to burning people.
It's been done before. It can happen again. Too scary to face.
A prophetic look into the future. Man is his worst enemy.
Wonderful poem. - Phil A.
Thank you Phil, that may well happen but I do not want to see it in my lifetime.
Andy
Sadly nothing surprises me anymore. We live in a topsy turvy world. The thought police are out and about. I think I’ll end up in prison:) We are on a different pathway and I don’t like it. Well penned Andy. Happy Saturday.
Thank you Cassie, yes it's true nothing surprises us any more.
If you do end up in prison I will come and bring a book for you. LOL
Andy
Awesome write Andy
Thank you Tony.

You're welcome Andy
This is so much scarier because it becomes likelier all the time. 1984 arriving a little late. Makes me very sad for my Daughter.
Thank you Dan, your words are so true. What is the life of our offspring going to be like?
