Comforting Certainties

orchidee

We're downcast, grieving, mourning at times

Though not for ever

There's the hope of a new Jerusalem

A new heaven and a new earth

In this world, this vale of tears

Called sometimes 'This side of heaven'

Sometimes seeming so, sometimes not

There are things.....

Sorrow, mourning, crying, pain, death

Yet one day they shall be no more

They shall be 'former things'

Things which have passed away

All gone - giving great comforts to us

God' promise of His dwelling with us

With all believers

On a new earth

For ever and ever.....

two things are clear having just read through this rather special poem ..
    1) you can write outside the box which is admirable
    2) your faith is impressive which is commendable
    3) you are more versatile than I had previously given you credit for, which is irrefutable ..
    4) I'm lousy at counting which is deplorable .. Neville

Thanks N. A bit of 'extempore', and that's quite a long word! heehee.

A prayer of faith and love, lovely in itself. We all know you are good at rhym but here you have chosen free verse that emphasizes sincerity and it works so well in what is a call for future reunion with those loved. Touching Orchi and to me that is what poetry is all about. A poem from the heart

I do believe that all grief eventually softens, the journey is a long one though. Your strong faith will lend you a helping hand. Thinking about you as mourn 🌺. A beautiful piece of writing.

Good one Orchi, it may take a while but you will move on in life. Just think of the love he has given you during his life.
