the price one pays in life for love
is grief, so when it grips you know
the measure and the depth of it
when passes on another soul
it took a fall of winter snow
its simple beauty pure and white
to break the numbness that I felt
to let the tears flow gently down
the flakes of crystal doomed to melt
were swirling, whirling dancing free
those quiet moments standing there
alone with all my memories
one door has closed yet clearly now
with eyes wide open I can see
without a doubt I loved her well
she was indeed a friend to me

Dear Teddy, you are so generous with your review. Have a wonderful Tuesday dear poet. ๐น
One said 'Live so as to be missed'. A poignant write Cassie. Grief seems wintry. We are shivery emotionally here.
Meanwhile - I wouldn't miss KP if she left for a thousand years, let alone a day! lol.
Grief is indeed wintry Orchi. It blots out the sunlight. Take care and thank you for stopping by.
On my dafter days - KP blocks out the sunlight too with... you know it... her botox. lol.
A lovely, moving poem, Cassie. Thanks for sharing.
Pleased you stopped by Tom. Thank you so much for your review. Have a good Tuesday.
Touching with appropriate delicate wording in beautiful rhym that falls from the tongue as soft as falling snow with such a sense of respect. Beautiful imagery set in the metaphor of winter as a symbol of death,
Thank you Soren for such an encouraging review. You are very much appreciated. Have a good Tuesday.
Beautiful. This works on many levels.
Thank you Thomas. I appreciate your thoughts. Have a good Tuesday.
You sure don't do things by halves Cassie, this is not only beautiful, but it also has a timeless quality to it that would both fit comfortably and sit perfectly among anyone's collection of poetry anywhere .. it is a quintessential mourning song Neville
I love that. A mourning song. This poem will forever be a mourning song. Thank you for such an encouraging review Neville. A very happy Tuesday to you.
Yes Cassie, the impact certain people can have on you will last a lifetime. I have several such individuals. Beautifully penned. ๐น
Dear AP, lovely to have a visit. So true what you say. Some people can have such an impact on our lives without being aware of it. Happy Tuesday to you over the pond.
And a glorious Tuesday to you Cassie. ๐น
Sometimes it can be about words unsaid ...and now..
Thanks Cassie.
Yes the words unsaid. Better to tell people you love them, than to leave it until itโs too late. Happy Tuesday Dave. Excuse me while I just reach for my flag ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ๐ Happy Tuesday.

Dear Safina, thank you so much for stopping by today. So very much appreciated. Thank you dear poet ๐น
Wonderful words Cassie, some people in your life bring so much meaning to it. We must always move on as I am sure those people would not want us to dwell on the sadness but remember the good times together.
Andy
So right what you say Andy. Life is for living. However painful, we must learn to move on. Have a beautiful Tuesday.
