In my older years I start to look back
To the wonder times of my younger years,
Those times that are now written on the plaque,
The plaque set my mind showing no fears.
Those wonderful times of playing with friends,
Chasing over the fields and climbing trees,
Where our life was full of great dividends,
And dirt and scabs were always on our knees.
Such a wonderful time being so young,
Young and so very fearless in our lives,
The place from where our lives of wisdom sprung
And into the future life where it strives,
Those younger days took me into the place
From where I reached my wonderful old age.

You get a blue plaque βHere lived Andy, a contented manβ, while Iβve just been reminded to make my next dental appointment.
A cannot think of a form, if not talking about love, better suited to you and your contentment than this sonnet. π
Good for you, Andy.π
Your kind words are very much appreciated Dave, thank you so much.

I liked go-karting in younger days. We made a kart. I was usually the 'pusher' going round the estate.
Of course it was difficult then, those millions of years ago - the wheel was still square! (as in a comedy film). lol.
I too used to ride those home made carts and survived my younger days, it couldn't happen now with all this health and safety drivel inflicted on the kids.
Thanks \orchi.

I have a memory bank too Andy filled with wonderful moments from my childhood. Such happy times. I very much enjoyed your thoughts here. Those days were the stepping stones to where you find yourself now. Have a great Wednesday.
So true Cassie, those stepping stones certainly started us off into our lives.

Thank you so much AP, those times of the past can be so wonderful.
