Starry Nights

The Beauteously Brainy Bard

Composing thoughtful song about Van Gogh
strikes the soul how, with deft strokes of the brush
on canvas, he evoked his world to show
the countryside: fields; starry nights (that flush

with vibrant color); rainbows; shade effects;
and rural scenes. But genius took its time.
Opposed to novelty, lacking perfect
sense, peers decried Van Gogh's pioneering prime.

Still, beauty poured out from his suffering mind,
which bled and perished to incarnate art.
To Van Gogh's tortured brilliance, grief enshrined,
and blessed, the spirit of his enormous heart!

Hence, his quintessence haunts the world today,
a Zeitgeist, ghost, which never fades away.

    Hmm. Well spoken by an apparent officiant of this field and a fan of the artist thus delineated to effect. Thank you very much for sharing. You've opened my eyes to a different perspective on him, and I thank you. Beautifully rendered with excellent details and a haunting poignancy.

      Thank you so much for the warm words of praise (for my sonnet) and very thoughtful comment. It is all very kind of you and very much appreciated, as well, Cheeky Missy. BBB.
