A Starry Night

The Beauteously Brainy Bard

Composing thoughtful song about Van Gogh
strikes the soul how with strokes of his brush (bright
with suffering he knew) he used life to show
fields of wheat; countrysides; a starry night

(in brilliant color); comets; light effects;
and galaxies! But genius took its time.
Opposed to novelty, without perfect
sense, peers decried Van Gogh's pioneering prime.

Still, beauty poured out from his tortured mind,
which bled and perished to incarnate art.
To Van Gogh's brilliance, the world has enshrined
and blessed the spirit of his enormous heart!

Hence, his quintessence haunts our lives today,
a Zeitgeist, ghost, which never fades away.

    Hmm. Well spoken by an apparent officiant of this field and a fan of the artist thus delineated to effect. Thank you very much for sharing. You've opened my eyes to a different perspective on him, and I thank you. Beautifully rendered with excellent details and a haunting poignancy.

      Thank you so much for the warm words of praise (for my sonnet) and very thoughtful comment. It is all very kind of you and very much appreciated, as well, Cheeky Missy. BBB.
