Thinking Back on Polly
Polly left school at
fifteen,
even before she
had time
to take her exams ..
It seems
asthma got to her
on the way home,
on the top
deck of an old red
school bus ..
They say, she died
alone up there ..
But how
on earth, was that
even possible ..
After all, it was a
school bus
for Christ’s sake ..
No one even knew
she had
fucking asthma,
or how bad it was ..
And I sometimes
imagine if she had
not left us
early like that, then
we might have
got it together again
and maybe, one day
even have fallen in love ..

This a case study, Neville? When ‘sliding doors’ becomes a matter of life or death, then it is more than even a tragedy.
Polly was an amazing individual .. everyone loved her generosity, sense of fun, humour and love of life .. this took me a long time to write and a whole lot longer to post .. thank you .. Neville
Yeh - can't do it when it is early and too raw.
Remembering Polly, and also introducing her tragically short life to your readers. It is hard to comprehend sometimes just how cruel life can be. You lost a lovely young friend before she had time to fully bloom. This morning, another young boy 15 years old was knifed to death. More devastated family and friends. Dear Neville, a most poignant write. On a school bus. ……..A rose from me 🌹
a lot of water has passed under the bridge and I can think on her now without wincing .. thank you for that rose Cassie .. Neville
The things that we don't know until too late and how they make changes in things that could have been or things that become. Sad story my friend a bit haunting.
I am sure we each have lots of examples that fall into that category .. thanks for your understanding
Sorry for your loss, Neville.
