The Unknown

M.E.M.

Beyond the maps,

Where legends dwell,

I ventured into the unknown.

With nothing but my wits about me

discovering worlds untouched by human hands.

Animals that had been lost to time.

Plants that grow under mysterious circumstances.

All because they had not been affected by people.

Traveling through the depths

to see what might lie beneath the surface.

My eyes, the only pair to witness

the majesty of it all.

For who would believe what I had seen

on my solo adventure through Earth?

Who would believe that there are entire ecosystems

prospering without the help

or harm

of humanity to guide them, to destroy them?

No one with me to witness the sights, smells, and sounds

of such a magical place.

Smoothly rendered imaginative trip. Imaginative because I doubt there are any spaces left on earth which haven’t been affected by human presence.
Prior to that, nature evolved and became an environment friendly to humans, who were able to exist in it, then exploit it and finally all but destroy it.
    Still possible to dream, though…

      Great take
