In Shadows of Friendship

If you notice me offline its probably because im either working, at school, or just staring at the ceiling or reading

In the garden of trust, where the soft petals sway,
Reside shadows of friendship, that dance and decay.
With smiles painted bright, and laughter like chimes,
They weave tapestries sweet, spun from delicate rhymes.

I met you one morning, sun glinting with grace,
Your warmth was so genuine, a soft, kind embrace.
We shared every secret, our hopes intertwined,
But beneath the sweet surface, you crafted designs.

Like actors on stages in a play of deceit,
You donned the right mask, oh, so clever and neat.
With whispers like honey, your words dripped like gold,
Yet hidden beneath was a heart icy cold.

We wandered through gardens, through laughter and tears,
I trusted your warmth, as you conquered my fears.
But the petals of friendship began to grow thin,
In the silence that lingered, I sensed the deep din.

For when darkness fell, and the light turned to shade,
You turned on your heel, as if friendship was faked.
Where were your promises, your vows to stand true?
Did they melt in the warmth of the spotlight on you?

I watched as you flourished, as I faded away,
The colors of trust dulled, the hues turned to gray.
Like shadows at sunset, you melted from sight,
Leaving echoes of laughter, now distant, contrite.

In the mirror of time, reflections grow clear,
I learned not all flowers are destined to cheer.
Some bloom just to fade, with petals once bright,
While others stand steadfast, a beacon of light.

So, I gather my courage, like leaves in the wind,
Though friendships may falter, I’ll trust once again.
For the heart learns to know, through both joy and despair,
What’s real and what’s fleeting, in the depths of a stare.

I’ll nurture the bonds that blossom with grace,
And shield my heart gently, while I find my own space.
For in the garden of life, where true friends reside,
The fragrance of loyalty will always abide.

So here’s to the moments, both bitter and sweet,
The masquerade dances, the heart’s gentle beat.
For even when shadows lay heavy around,
True friendship awakens where love can be found.

Wow. This is VERY beautiful and so excellently delineated, flowing with rhyming, tripping along like a burbling stream murmuring its complaint as the sages well knew. Gorgeously rendered with superb imagery and winsome poignancy. Thank you very much for sharing. I love it.
