I wish that my lawn was EMO!
Then I would never half to mow.
Oh that is high on my wish list.
Why that would make 'cutting' a breeze.
And I could do just as I please;
bass fishing I just can't resist!
**
That's why I'm pissed like this right now.
I've missed a lot now holy cow.
I hope it will come true one day.
I'd so enjoy this time of year,
kick back and sip a frosty beer.
And much out on a 'fish filet.
**
I pray this grass I could cut less,
that all this stress would go away~

- Comment from author about the poem: The Jeffreys Sonnet was created by John J. Alcorn' it is isosyllabic (only 8 syllables per line) 2 sestets with a cross rhymed couplet (the cross rhyme) is in the 2nd to 4th syllable in each of the two lines of the couplet. Also there is a cross rhyme in the second sestet ( between the 2nd to 4th syllable ) tying the first sestet to the 2nd... The rhyme scheme is : aabccb - ddeffe -(e)g -(g)e

G’day Thad,
That ad is real bad taste I’ll have you know;
But as for the poem, do take a bow.
Though leave the mower, shove it in the shed -
Go Japanese, just use pebbles instead.
Enjoyed the poem but the underlying technicalities gave me a headache. I’m a simple soul, just about able to manage couplets and quatrains……..
Howdy Dave! 👋 🤠
Thank you for another

by guy!! Great hearin'
From ya!!
Keep a smiling!! 😁
Best regards ✌️ Thad
I think it must have taken more effort to write this poem than to mow the lawn. A lot of constraints for a man that hates rules. Very nicely done and lots of fun to read
