Mighty Grin; That’s in the Shade (I am the…)

AuburnScribbler

I am the coin, you find by drain,

the paracetamol; for your pain,

I am the gloves, that warm your hands,

the notepad; full of happy plans,

I am your family, in the park,

the pup; that yaps; a loving bark,

I am the roof, above your head,

the golf clubs; that do shine in shed,

I am your friends, who hug you tight,

the photos; of such joyous sight,

I am the joke, that makes you laugh,

the tap; that runs a foamy bath,

I am the pub, that’s always there,

the bond; that will; forever care,

I am the place, where you can play,

the lamp; that lights a better day,

I am the voice, that sings your song,

the feeling; that you do belong,

I am the strength, that you have made,

the mighty grin; that’s in the shade.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I thought I would write a simply-smiley one. With what's going on around the world at the moment, and in my own life, I needed to write this, to act as some sort of verbal self- comfort. I also hope that when you read it, it can warm your heart too. Of course, this is not to say that certain "sad" poetic observations are cancelled for future posts, all I am saying; is that I will endeavour to bring a bit more needed mirth in my following uploads. The banner picture of the multi-coloured graffitied hearts, represents the many smiles in the dark, that combat against the designed evils, that our barbarically clumsy species remakes, that prolongs such a hard life to lead. I hope that you enjoy and are comforted by this poem, power through, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.
