Mad Dog in America
Mad Dog
punched a hole
in the wilderness ..
Then built
a ghetto to wrap
around himself
and the pack
that followed him ..
There were
of course those,
who both
feared and who
thought him
some kind of crazy ..
While one
or two others
perhaps,
had not got a clue
why they
admired him from
what they
thought was a safe
distance ..
Those one’s
reminded me so
much of sheep
I just had to laugh ..
Two shots later
and he is
still in the running
while I am
stuck here building
a deep bunker
for me and mine
and all those whom
I love and hold dearly ..

A true portrayal of American history and its expantion then deterioration and general paranoia. Good write Neville
I am so glad you concur my friend .. p.s. I'm still digging .. Neville
If I thought building a bunker would help, I would be hard at it. When I was in grade school we would have drills where you were to hide under your desk; right. Words of wisdom here.
Snap .. me too .. Oh' n thanks, not only for the very kind visit, but for the memory .. Neville
P.S. Neither of my kids believed me when I told em ..
My bunker was destroyed Neville that is why I normally think outside the box.
